Michael Herbst, PLS
Mike has over 19 years of experience practicing Land Surveying and has been a professional licensed land surveyor since 2007. During the last 5 years, Mike has specialized in LiDAR and successfully managed many projects using this 3D-laser mapping technology. Over the past few years, Mike has also furthered his skills through the planning and use of aerial photogrammetry using a UAS (unmanned aerial system) or "drones" to capture low-altitude high-resolution images of the surface of the earth and has used this information to analyze and develop digital terrain models (DTM's) to provide Ensign and its clients. Using fixed-wing drone and quad copter, Ensign can capture highly accurate and detailed topographic and DTM information over very large areas in a single day. Throughout his career, Mike has worked many projects locally and throughout the states, many across the nation and several around the world.
Outside of work, Mike loves spending all his extra time with his wife and four children. Together they like to go boating, snow skiing, and on family hikes. Mike has been involved in coaching little league and scouts over the last several years with his kids. His personal hobbies are golfing, fishing, and is currently working on his private pilots license.
Michael is located at our Sandy Office.
